In today’s digital era, many of us still cherish the intimacy of a handwritten note or letter. However, not everyone realizes that handwriting is more than just a means of communication. A graphologist, or handwriting analyst, can glean insights far beyond the choice of pen or paper. Handwriting reveals the writer’s character and personality nuances, including communication style, physical and emotional health, motivations, and character traits at the moment of writing.

Every loop, stroke, and mark on paper showcases our personality. For the past three decades, I’ve analyzed the handwriting of business leaders and world influencers, including global leaders.

In these uncertain times, our future often feels controlled by a few powerful individuals and their relationships with each other. Three such leaders are Presidents Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Xi Jinping.

DONALD TRUMP

Even to an untrained eye, Trump’s handwriting is recognizable by his broad-nibbed black marker and large, diagonal script. His writing reflects boldness and a confrontational nature, emphasizing his desire for control and determination. The diagonal baseline in his notes indicates enthusiasm and resilience, often forming opinions before considering others’ perspectives. He doesn’t dwell on uncertainty or excessive caution.

His rigid, invisible baseline might suggest he uses a ruler, highlighting his control and stubbornness. Trump appreciates routine and structure, resistant to influence by opinions or emotions. However, he shows loyalty to cherished people and beliefs.

Trump often opts for printed over cursive writing, signaling a desire to be taken seriously and avoid interruption. His handwriting is deliberate, conveying conviction and purpose, aiming for logic over emotion. The tight spacing between words suggests he dislikes solitude, preferring an audience to validate his beliefs. He’s not a loner in professional or personal life.

His angular, tightly-knit signature, with sharp upper zones and a strong downward stroke, projects his public persona. It shows him as analytical and critical, underlined by his emphatic text. Privately, he is charismatic, loyal, and maintains high manners.

VLADIMIR PUTIN

President Putin’s Cyrillic handwriting reflects similar hand-eye coordination and mental processes as any other language. Like Trump, his writing’s upward slant indicates enthusiasm and confidence, though with a finer nib and rightward letter movement. Putin is driven by emotion, excelling in communication. Unlike Trump’s disjointed letters, Putin’s are connected, suggesting speed, passion, and restlessness. He is intelligent, though not always modest, enjoying applause and devoted followers.

His signature, larger and looped, reveals a willingness to express emotions, contrasting with his aggressive public image.

XI JINPING

President Xi Jinping’s signature features bold, broad strokes, indicating confidence and a competitive nature, with significant interest in material wealth. The large size and strong pressure suggest high energy and attention to detail, reflecting a strong work ethic and diligence in completing tasks.

The dominant middle zone of strokes shows a no-nonsense attitude, logical thinking, and self-assuredness, with sustained effort in all endeavors. His vertical strokes emphasize focus and a resistance to external demands, reflecting stubbornness and tenacity in pursuing a linear vision in politics and personal life.

These leaders may have complex relationships on the global stage, but their personalities are not entirely misaligned. Trump and Xi share tenacity and an uncompromising nature, while Putin’s characteristics differ. However, all three are natural leaders.
