According to the statement, Foreign Minister Marco Rubio held telephone conversations with Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, British Foreign Minister David Lammy, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas.
The statement added, “The ministers agreed to end the war between Russia and Ukraine through a lasting negotiated settlement.”
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that France, Germany, and Britain are seeking to deploy forces on Ukrainian territory, adding that during his presidency, there will be no American forces in Ukraine.
In contrast, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation confirmed that any scenario for the deployment of NATO forces in Ukraine is completely unacceptable to Moscow and carries the risk of escalation.
