The American President stated on the ‘Truth Social’ platform: ‘Due to the severe division within the Iranian government, which was expected, and at the request of Marshal Asim Munir and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, we have been asked to suspend our attack on Iran until its leaders and representatives present a unified proposal.’ The American President, Donald Trump, also announced the continuation of the naval blockade of Iranian ports, despite Washington’s agreement to delay strikes on Iran. Earlier today, Tuesday, President Donald Trump said that Iran has no choice but to send a delegation to negotiate, expressing his belief that matters may end in a good agreement. Trump added in an interview with CNBC that the embargo policy implemented was successful, noting that the United States is not dealing with easy parties but is achieving results he described as successful. He confirmed that he ‘does not have much time regarding the ceasefire file,’ emphasizing his refusal to extend it, considering that his country is tougher and stronger than the Iranian regime. Trump stated he is ready to act against Iran if necessary, asserting that the matter will end with a great deal, according to him. On April 11, a round was held in Islamabad aimed at reaching a permanent ceasefire and conflict resolution, but it ended without achieving significant results, amid disagreements over Tehran’s desire to control the Strait of Hormuz and its refusal to give up its stockpile of enriched uranium. Following this, Washington announced on the 13th of the same month the imposition of a naval blockade on Iranian ports on both sides of the Strait of Hormuz, through which about 20 percent of global oil, petroleum products, and liquefied natural gas shipments pass.
