Xiaomi 15T Series Debuts Globally, Targets Apple & Samsung

Tech giant Xiaomi is intensifying its global competition against Apple and Samsung with the international debut of its 15T series smartphones, alongside new smart home devices under its Mijia brand.

Unveiled in Munich and launching soon in the UAE, this release is a significant step in Xiaomi’s plan to solidify its presence in the premium smartphone and connected living sectors.

The company has introduced the flagship Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro models. The 15T Pro is available in black, grey, and mocha gold, while the 15T comes in black, gray, rose, and gold. Both are designed for consumers seeking top-tier performance and advanced imaging without the high price of competitor flagship models.

What are the standout features of the Xiaomi 15 series?

The highlight of Xiaomi’s offering is its Leica-engineered triple camera system, boasting a 50MP main sensor with Leica Summilux lenses. The 15T Pro features a Leica 5x Pro telephoto camera with up to 20x Ultra Zoom, a 6.83-inch display, a 32MP front camera, and a robust battery. These features aim to position the 15T series against Samsung’s mid-range Galaxy A and premium S series, with a more competitive price point.

“The 15T is essentially a budget-friendly flagship—offering premium performance at a slightly lower price than top-tier models,” said Terrence Xiao, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Xiaomi International. He noted that the series is part of Xiaomi’s “premiumisation” strategy to attract tech-savvy users who appreciate quality and design.

The Munich event also introduced Xiaomi’s Mijia range of appliances, including fridges, washing machines, and air conditioners, furthering the company’s goal to create an interconnected ecosystem under its “smart living” initiative.

When will Xiaomi’s 15T series be available in the UAE?

The flagship Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro models will hit the UAE market next week, priced at Dh1,799 and Dh2,299, respectively.

In Europe, Xiaomi has already claimed the third spot in the smartphone industry, following Samsung and Apple. The company is now targeting similar success in the Middle East, with the UAE as a fast-growing market for mid and high-end smartphones. Xiaomi is expanding its retail and online footprint in the Emirates, appealing to the country’s tech-oriented, youthful consumer base with high smartphone usage.

“The Xiaomi 15T marks another vital step in our global strategy to blend performance, design, and value,” said Jennifer, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Xiaomi International. “The UAE, with its strong demand for innovation and premium tech, continues to be a crucial market for our growth.”
