In an interview with ‘Sputnik’ radio, Taha stated, ‘What the Palestinian people and Hamas want is for these developments and recognitions to translate into practical actions and measures on the ground, not just speeches.’ He considered that ‘recognition is not enough amid ongoing Israeli crimes, and there needs to be serious and genuine pressure on Israel to stop the continuous massacres in Gaza.’

He added, ‘We want bolder positions from these countries that have recognized the State of Palestine, for the refugees to return, the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and for Israel to withdraw from all territories, in addition to halting settlement activities.’

The Palestinian Hamas movement’s media relations official in Lebanon noted that ‘the American stance is not new as it is supportive and aligned with Israel.’ He confirmed that ‘the recent positions are a political defeat for Israel,’ pointing out that ‘the recognition by some countries aims to silence popular movements in their own countries.’

The ‘Sputnik’ guest viewed the establishment and resolution of the two-state solution as a big lie by the international community, asserting that this will not be achieved through negotiation, peace, and speeches. He remarked that ‘President Mahmoud Abbas’s speech was weak and did not rise to the level of the bloodshed happening in the Gaza Strip,’ questioning, ‘How can he call for disarmament while Israel continues to kill the Palestinian people?’

Taha emphasized that ‘in addition to Egypt’s role, Qatar’s role is important, as it has seriously sought to stop the Israeli war on Gaza, yet Israel carried out a treacherous operation,’ revealing that ‘Qatar does not oppose returning to negotiations provided there are guarantees.’
