Renowned sitarist Anoushka Shankar, who has been nominated for a Grammy eleven times, has received two more nominations.
In the 68th edition of the esteemed awards, Anoushka’s single ‘Daybreak’ has been nominated for Best Global Music Performance, while her latest album ‘Chapter III: We Return To Light’, featuring Alam Khan and drummer Sarathy Korwar, earned a nod for Best Global Music Album.
Expressing her joy on Instagram, Anoushka shared, “Today is a day of contrasts—a severe migraine and the news of my 12th and 13th Grammy nominations in one afternoon. I’m deeply grateful, even from my horizontal position in this darkened room, to have ‘Chapter III: We Return to Light’ nominated for Best Global Album and ‘Daybreak’ for Best Global Music Performance. Being nominated alongside the amazing @alamsarode and @sarathykorwar, with whom I created this music, makes it even more special.”
Her latest Grammy nominations have delighted many Indians.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas congratulated Anoushka on her Instagram Story, saying, “Just queen energy. Congratulations.”
Composer Siddhant Bhatia is also among this year’s Grammy nominees for his album ‘Sounds of Kumbha’, a 12-track collection blending devotional themes with modern soundscapes.
Charu Suri, an Indo-American jazz pianist and composer, has been nominated for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album for her work ‘Shayan’.
The winners of the 2026 Grammys will be announced on February 1, 2026, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
