Could there be shoes that let you fly? While human creativity has led to many bizarre tech innovations, flying shoes aren’t one of them yet. Recently, a video called ‘Tesla Glide’ shoes has been circulating on social media.

The clip shows a person rising off the ground, hovering in mid-air, and gliding through a room, with an amazed audience clapping and cheering.

However, there’s a major issue—this video is a deepfake. A closer look reveals the audience’s faces morphing and shifting unnaturally.

This isn’t the first viral video of “flying shoes.” Last month, an AI-generated clip depicted a man soaring with ‘Aerofoot’ shoes, supposedly showcased at ‘Gitex 2029’ by Jyo John Mulloor, known for his digital creations on Facebook.

How to Identify a Deepfake

  1. Look for distorted or incomplete body parts, especially fingers or ears.

  2. Notice any awkward movements, unusual lighting, or fake expressions.

  3. If the media seems flawless, it might be artificial.

  4. Use reverse image search or check metadata to detect AI involvement.
