The Iranian news agency ‘IRNA’ reported on Sunday that during today’s Iranian Cabinet meeting, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi presented a report on the official invitation extended by Egypt to the President to participate in the Sharm El-Sheikh summit. He clarified that Iran rejected the President’s invitation, followed by a new invitation for the Foreign Minister to attend the summit.
Axios correspondent, in a follow-up to a previous post on the social media platform ‘X’, stated that the list of invitees to the meeting on Gaza has expanded. He said, ‘The Americans have significantly expanded the list of invitees, adding Spain, Japan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Hungary, India, El Salvador, Cyprus, Greece, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Canada.’
These developments come days after Hamas announced its acceptance of the American initiative principle, with several Western and Arab capitals affirming their support for Trump’s efforts to reach a comprehensive settlement.
