According to the ‘Sputnik’ correspondent, ‘Israeli aircraft flew intensively in southern Lebanon and launched an airstrike targeting the area between the towns of Tura and Abbasiya.’ The ceasefire agreement between ‘Hezbollah’ came into effect on November 27, 2024. It was expected that the Israeli army would complete its withdrawal from the areas it occupied in southern Lebanon by January 26 of the previous year. However, Israel did not adhere to the deadline and maintained its military presence in five strategic points in the south of the country, continuing to carry out airstrikes against various regions in Lebanon, justifying this as ‘ensuring the protection of northern settlements.’ Meanwhile, Lebanon firmly rejects the Israeli attacks and demands their cessation.
