The head of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate stated to ‘Sputnik’ that this action is part of the genocide being committed against the Palestinian people. It is a systematic targeting, officially decided by the Israeli occupation government, aimed at journalists to prevent them from conveying the truth about their crimes, genocide, and the starvation war faced by the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The Journalists Syndicate condemns this heinous crime in the strongest terms and calls on the international community to take deterrent measures against the occupation and impose sanctions on Israel according to international law, as this state commits the most heinous crimes against Palestinian journalists. The assassination of journalists by Israel in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip, is considered the largest and most atrocious massacre in the history of media worldwide.

Naser Abu Bakr revealed measures taken by the Journalists Syndicate and the International Federation of Journalists against the Israeli occupation, adding that they are proceeding with legal actions against Israel in the International Criminal Court and all international forums. They have sent more than 60 identical messages today, since the early hours after the martyrs’ assassination, to all international and human rights organizations, urging them to take practical steps against the occupation.

The head of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate called on all media institutions to boycott the media incitement campaign led by the Israeli occupation state, a campaign of lies and misinformation, and not to engage with it, as it is part of the war machine, murder, and hatred incitement practiced by the occupation army. He emphasized that Israeli media is part of the war machine and a partner in the crimes against the Palestinian people.

Qatar’s ‘Al Jazeera’ network reported on Sunday evening that their correspondents in the Gaza Strip, Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammad Quraik, were killed in an Israeli strike on the journalists’ tent in the sector. The network stated, ‘The martyrdom of Al Jazeera correspondents Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammad Quraik as a result of an Israeli strike on their tent.’

Simultaneously, Palestinian sources announced the killing of journalist Mohammad Al-Khaldi and photographer Moumen Aloua in the same Israeli strike that targeted the Al Jazeera crew in the tent adjacent to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza. In a related context, the Israeli army announced on Sunday evening the targeting of Al Jazeera correspondent Anas Al-Sharif, accusing him of ‘leading a cell’ affiliated with the Palestinian Hamas movement.
