Lieutenant Hamad Al Tamimi explained in an exclusive interview with ‘Sputnik’ that the ‘Shaheen’ drone plays a role in firefighting operations. It is designed to be proactive in dealing with fires and works to cool affected areas before the arrival of ground firefighting teams. ‘Shaheen’ is capable of carrying a weight of up to 40 kilograms and is equipped with a water and foam tank with a capacity exceeding 1200 liters. It has an operating time ranging from 25 to 30 minutes, which can be extended using external electrical power.
Al Tamimi confirmed that the development of ‘Shaheen’ extends until 2033, aiming to enhance rapid response and reduce firefighting time, as well as protect lives and property through proactive incident prediction using artificial intelligence.
He added, ‘This local innovation embodies Dubai’s commitment to employing advanced digital solutions in the service of public safety and reflects its global leadership in firefighting and prevention. It also enhances the readiness of civil defense teams to deal with the complex challenges posed by the modern architectural infrastructure in the emirate.’
