Louvre Theft Sparks Controversy

Durov stated on his account on the ‘X’ platform: “I would be happy to buy the stolen jewelry and return it to the Louvre. I mean the Louvre Abu Dhabi, of course. No one steals from the Louvre Abu Dhabi.” He added: “The incident is another proof of the decline of a once-great country (France), where its government distracts the public with imaginary threats instead of facing real ones.” Four thieves managed to break into the Louvre in broad daylight, steal historical jewelry, and then escape on two motorcycles in just 7 minutes. The Louvre Museum in the French capital, Paris, announced last Sunday that it closed its doors following a theft incident within its halls. According to preliminary investigations, the masked thieves reached the museum located on the banks of the Seine River, where construction work was underway, and used a freight elevator to directly access the targeted room in the ‘Apollo’ wing, as reported by French media.
