The army confirmed in an official statement that the strikes targeted a main training and qualification compound used by the force to train its members in shooting and using various types of weapons, aiming to conduct attacks against Israeli forces and civilians. It noted that another camp belonging to the same unit was targeted earlier this week, according to the Israeli ‘Jerusalem Post’. The raids also included additional military infrastructure of ‘Hezbollah’ in various areas.
In the same context, the Northern Command confirmed that there is no change in the Home Front Command’s instructions for residents of northern Israel until further notice. A ceasefire agreement between ‘ ‘ and Israel came into effect on November 27, 2024, more than a year after ‘Hezbollah’ opened what it called the ‘Support Front for the Gaza Sector’ on October 8, 2023.
The Israeli army was supposed to complete its withdrawal from the areas it occupied in southern Lebanon by dawn on January 26, 2025. However, Israel did not adhere to the deadline and maintained its military presence in five strategic points in southern Lebanon, justifying it as ‘ensuring the protection of northern settlements’. Despite the agreement, it occasionally launches strikes in Lebanon, claiming they are to remove ‘Hezbollah threats’.
