Dubai-based golfer Rayhan Thomas is gearing up for a pivotal week as he competes in the Korn Ferry Tour Final Stage Q-School in Florida, a crucial step towards the PGA Tour.
The 26-year-old, born in Dubai and representing India, graduated from Oklahoma State University and has been here before. Last year, he earned his Korn Ferry Tour card by tying for 26th place with scores of 70, 72, 71, and 68, totaling one-over-par.
After a full season on the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour, Thomas finished 88th on the Points List, just missing the chance to retain his tour status.
Determined to return, he advanced through Stages One and Two to reach this week’s 72-hole Final Stage at Dye’s Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass and Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra.
A total of 176 players will compete in this extensive test, playing two rounds on each course. Only the top five finishers will secure PGA Tour cards for 2026, with ties leading to a playoff to determine the final position.
The next 40 players will gain Korn Ferry Tour membership for 2026.
Thomas shared with Khaleej Times, “I’ve been in Jacksonville for a few days, practicing hard on the range and the courses. Both are challenging and in excellent condition.
“Due to recent heavy rains, the courses are softer than last year. Mastering iron play is key for scoring, with small greens and demanding chipping from Bermuda grass.
“I’m confident in my game and need to focus on playing rather than the score,” he added. “I’ve earned Korn Ferry Tour status here before and played both courses, which aids my preparation. I’m excited for this important week to set up for 2026.”
Meanwhile, the Asian Tour concludes its season with the Saudi Open presented by PIF in Dirab, finishing on Saturday.
