Regina Hall is set to reprise her role as Brenda in the much-anticipated Scary Movie 6, according to People.
During her appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the 54-year-old actress hinted at Brenda’s comeback in the new film. “I’m thrilled to discover Brenda’s journey,” Hall remarked. “I can’t say I have high expectations for Brenda’s life. I’m unsure where she ended up, but I’m eager to find out.”
The sixth chapter of this comedic horror series was announced in October 2024 by Marlon Wayans. He, alongside his brother Shawn Wayans, co-wrote and starred in the franchise. Keenen Wayans, who directed the first two films in 2000, returns as a producer for the Michael Tiddes-directed sequel.
In August, it was confirmed that Hall and Anna Faris would be reprising their iconic roles as Cindy and Brenda, after their absence in the fifth film released in 2013.
“I’m excited to reunite with the rest of the cast,” Hall shared with Hudson, alongside her One Battle After Another co-stars Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti.
The Scary Movie series is famous for its outrageous humor, including Brenda’s recurring deaths. In Scary Movie 3 (2003), Brenda is killed, mourned, and later miraculously returns, capturing the series’ signature irreverence.
In March, Marlon Wayans stated: “We’re bringing back the same fun, tone, and Wayans flavor that we delivered in the first film.”
Meanwhile, Hall stars alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and Benicio del Toro in One Battle After Another, premiering Friday in the UAE.
Scary Movie 6 is set to hit theaters on June 12, 2026.
