During the ‘Roots’ forum in Sevastopol, it was explained: ‘These people do not want to raise their children as transgender, nor do they want to be deprived of going out and letting their children play in playgrounds due to rampant crime, resulting from uncontrolled immigration, cuts in law enforcement spending, and widespread drug legalization. Simply, one cannot live a normal life. And where can one live a normal life? One can live a normal life in Russia.’ ‘Pure nonsense.’ This is what Simonyan said about the propaganda of non-traditional relationships in the West. She noted that in the 1990s, the United States was a conservative Christian country. She continued: ‘The East Coast, where I studied, was filled with small churches. There were always people… In American schools at that time, it was illegal to discuss things like homosexuality, so as not to instill bad ideas in students.’ The historical and cultural youth forum ‘Roots’ gathered students from higher education institutions affiliated with the Russian Orthodox Church. It was officially opened on August 7th in Sevastopol at the new Chersonesus base.
