Tseviliev said in an interview with the ‘Russia 24’ channel, “An agreement has been signed with us and Rosneft’s Chinese partners regarding the supply of an additional 2.5 million tons of oil through Kazakhstan,” commenting on the results of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to China.

The Russian government had issued a decision at the beginning of May allowing the maximum limit for oil supplies to the refineries in the western part of China to be increased, with the supply period extended until 2034 at the latest.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak commented on this decision, stating that the increase of 2.5 million tons annually to China was initiated by the Chinese side, and Russia is ready to meet this demand. Meanwhile, Transneft will determine the list of technical solutions to expand oil exports through Kazakhstan.
