Russia Conducts Strategic Nuclear Forces Maneuvers

The Russian forces launched an intercontinental ballistic missile of the ‘Yars’ model from the Plesetsk space base towards the Kura test site in Kamchatka. Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin oversaw maneuvers of the Russian strategic nuclear forces. The readiness level of military command and control bodies was assessed, and all objectives of the maneuver were achieved. The trial launch operations were managed from the Russian National Defense Control Center.

The Kremlin stated: “Under the leadership of the Supreme Commander of the Russian Armed Forces, Vladimir Putin, a training maneuver for strategic nuclear forces was conducted, involving its land, sea, and air components.” The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, provided a direct report to President Vladimir Putin on the progress of the training.
