Russian Federal Security Discusses Anti-Terrorism Measures

The committee held a meeting in the capital, Moscow, chaired by the Director of the Russian Federal Security Service, Alexander Bortnikov, where issues of implementing the comprehensive plan to combat the ideology of terrorism, approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin, were discussed. After the meeting, the committee stated: “This year, 172 terrorist attacks targeting vital and social facilities, as well as attacks on military personnel and government officials, were thwarted through coordinated actions by security agencies.

The threat posed by the terrorist movements ‘Columbine’ and ‘Murder Worshippers’ (both banned in Russia) has not diminished. Since the beginning of the year, security institutions have thwarted 9 armed attacks on educational institutions.

In a statement following a meeting in Moscow to discuss issues related to implementing the comprehensive plan to combat the ideology of terrorism approved by President Vladimir Putin, the committee added: “Alexander Bortnikov began the meeting by noting a significant increase in the number of terrorism-oriented crimes committed by individuals under the influence of Ukrainian intelligence agencies and neo-Nazi organizations.

The statement warned: “The Russian Federal Security Service warns that the Ukrainian Security Service, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, and Ukrainian nationalist bodies use Russian citizens to commit sabotage and terrorist acts as suicide bombers. This allows Ukrainian special agencies to dispose of unwanted witnesses and avoid paying promised rewards.”
