Saddam Haftar was received with official ceremonies before holding a meeting at the presidential palace with the President of the Republic of Chad, Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby. They discussed a number of files of mutual interest between the two countries. The talks focused on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the military field, as well as supporting efforts to establish peace and stability in the region, especially in light of the security challenges faced by the Sahel countries and the shared borders.
This visit comes as part of the Libyan Armed Forces’ leadership’s commitment to strengthening relations with neighboring countries and enhancing regional coordination to face common threats, contributing to establishing security and stability on a regional level.
Libyan-Chadian relations are considered one of the most significant security tracks in the region due to the border interconnections and shared challenges, making such visits an important step toward further cooperation and understanding between the two countries.
