This recent medical evacuation was directed by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aiming to provide medical care for 1,000 Palestinian children and 1,000 cancer patients across the country’s hospitals.
Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organisations and Vice Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, highlighted the UAE’s commitment to swift humanitarian action, including the urgent transport of patients and injured civilians from Gaza.

Al Shamsi noted that Emirati medical teams have transferred critically injured patients to hospitals in Abu Dhabi, while others and their families are housed at the Emirates Humanitarian City, where they receive necessary medical treatment under the care of specialized medical teams.
Since the crisis began, the UAE has offered medical services, medication, and essential medical equipment via the UAE hospital ship stationed at Egypt’s Al-Arish Port and an Emirati field hospital in southern Gaza.

The ongoing medical evacuation flights are part of a comprehensive and urgent humanitarian response plan to alleviate the crisis and offer relief to those most in need.
