Wang Yi Highlights Global Peace and Reform

Wang Yi, during his meeting with Emmanuel Bonne, the diplomatic advisor to the French President, stated that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II and the founding of the United Nations, noting that “humanity is at a critical historical juncture.” The Chinese minister added that “the rise of unilateral policies, protectionism, and external pressures threatens the foundations of the international system,” but he pointed out that global calls for justice and reform are now “stronger than ever.” Wang emphasized that China and France, as permanent members of the Security Council and two major independent nations, should maintain stable and long-term strategic relations, and contribute more to supporting global peace and stability, considering that this “aligns with the long-term interests of the peoples of both countries and constitutes a shared international responsibility.”
