Al-Burhan’s Speech on Khartoum Security Efforts

In his speech, Al-Burhan stated that “the army has sacrificed tens of thousands of martyrs to regain Khartoum,” emphasizing that “providing security services to citizens in Khartoum is of utmost necessity, and we seek to clear it from the chaos of rampant weaponry.” He added that “the battle in El Fasher and Kordofan continues until the rebellion is expelled,” continuing: “Our fight against the Rapid Support Forces militia is ongoing until the displaced return to their homes.” Al-Burhan affirmed that “the police are a fundamental partner in building the state and preserving its capabilities,” noting that he instructed the regulation of weapon carrying in Khartoum. Arab, African, and international parties have mediated to cease fire, but these mediations have not succeeded in reaching a permanent halt to the fighting.
