Flydubai to Include Meals and Entertainment in Economy

Flydubai, an airline based in Dubai, announced on Wednesday that starting November 2025, all economy class tickets will include meals and in-flight entertainment. This move aims to enhance the travel experience for passengers.

“This revamp of our Economy Class offerings across all flights marks a major shift in our business model, providing customers with a more premium and convenient travel experience. We are committed to investing in customer experience improvements and delivering increased value through our services, technology, and product development,” said Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai.

Hamad Obaidalla, the chief commercial officer at flydubai, added, “Our adaptable business model has allowed us to swiftly navigate challenges and capitalize on new opportunities as we grow. This announcement is timely as we expand our network and fleet, welcoming more passengers each year. Initially launched as a budget airline, flydubai has gradually upgraded its services, introducing Business Class, opening a Business Class Lounge at Terminal 2, and expanding its entertainment and other services.

F&B and Entertainment Options

The airline provides a multi-language in-flight entertainment system featuring over 1,000 movies from Hollywood, Bollywood, Arabic, and international genres, along with TV shows from major studios like HBO Max, BBC Kids, and Cartoon Network.

Passengers can also enjoy interactive games, E-magazines, over 700 music albums, podcast episodes, and learn more about their destinations through travel guides and real-time flight data.

Additionally, passengers can select from a variety of meals, light snacks, and beverages. The airline currently offers regional menus with local dishes from African, European, Indian, Middle Eastern, Russian, and Southeast Asian cuisines.

Flydubai is expanding its network by acquiring nine new aircraft this year, increasing its fleet to 95 Boeing 737s. Three more aircraft are expected by the end of 2025, serving over 135 destinations.

As part of its Boeing 737-800 retrofit program, flydubai has introduced lie-flat Business Class seats and new Economy Class seating.

The airline is also hiring hundreds of new employees to staff the new aircraft arriving in the coming years.
