Grand Egyptian Museum to Open November 2025

News reported on the evening of Saturday that Prime Minister Madbouly’s intensive inspection tour aimed to ensure the completion of all development works around the museum area. Al-Homsani explained that this tour of the area surrounding the museum, which serves as a cultural facade for this globally significant archaeological monument, was conducted to review the final touches and installations already completed in preparation for the opening ceremony.

Mohamed Al-Homsani confirmed that the Prime Minister’s tour included the main roads and routes leading to the museum to ensure their readiness to receive international delegations. The Egyptian Prime Minister inspected the area around the museum, confirming the complete completion of landscaping, lighting, and cleaning works to ensure the area presents itself in the best possible light globally, as well as logistical preparations.

The Egyptian diplomat explained that the final touches on related works are being monitored, along with completing all logistical matters related to the reception of participating delegations. He noted that this day represents a significant event awaited by the entire world, and the Egyptian state is keen to ensure that the Grand Egyptian Museum’s opening ceremony is presented in the best possible way, befitting Egypt’s status and history.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi agreed to set November 1, 2025, as the official date for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum during a government meeting held in the new administrative capital. This was announced by Mostafa Madbouly, the Egyptian Prime Minister, as reported by Egypt’s ‘Al-Youm Al-Sabe’ newspaper, which noted that ministries and concerned entities have been tasked with quickly completing preparations to ensure the museum and its surrounding area are ready to host an exceptional opening that highlights the magnificence of Egyptian civilization, amidst high-level international attendance and accompanying cultural and artistic events.

The Ministry of Tourism announced last June that the opening of the museum, originally scheduled for July 3, had been postponed due to regional developments. It indicated that a new date for the Grand Egyptian Museum would be set within the fourth quarter of 2025, which is the date announced today.
