Iran Warns of Strong Retaliation Amidst 12-Day Conflict

Major General Mohammad Bagheri, during his meeting with Iraqi National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji, warned that “if we are attacked, our response will be stronger than the 12-day war, and we will turn our enemies’ lives into hell,” emphasizing that “Iran will make the enemy live in hell.” On the night of June 13, Israel launched a military operation against Iran, accusing it of “pursuing a secret military nuclear program,” targeting nuclear facilities, prominent military leaders, nuclear physicists, and Iranian airbases. In response, Iran denied these accusations and retaliated with attacks of its own. The two sides exchanged blows for 12 days, with the United States joining Israel and launching a solo attack on Iranian nuclear facilities on the night of June 22. Then, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed hope that “the attack on the U.S. military base in Qatar has eased tensions with Iran, and that the path to peace and harmony in the Middle East is now possible.” He also announced that “Israel and Iran have agreed to a ceasefire, which will officially end the 12-day war.”
