Israeli Forces Intercept Global Resilience Fleet

The ministry stated in a post on the ‘X’ platform: ‘A number of ships from Hamas’s Resilience Fleet have been safely stopped, and their passengers are being transported to an Israeli port. Greta and her friends are safe and in good condition.’ Meanwhile, the ‘Global Resilience Fleet’ posted on ‘X’ that Israeli forces intercepted several ships and arrested some activists, confirming that the ships ‘Alma’ and ‘Sirius’ involved were ‘seized.’ The posts described the operation as ‘piracy on the high seas’ and a ‘blatant violation of international law and human rights,’ calling for immediate international action.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry, in a statement, deemed the attack by Israeli forces on the ‘Global Resilience Fleet’ in international waters as a ‘terrorist act’ endangering the lives of innocent civilians. It confirmed that Ankara has begun taking all necessary measures, along with the other passengers detained by Israel.

Wael Nawar, a member of the organizing committee of the ‘Global Resilience Fleet,’ had earlier predicted that the fleet’s ships would reach the shores of the Gaza Strip by 5 a.m. tomorrow, Palestine time, warning of a potential ‘attack’ by the Israeli army to prevent it from reaching Gaza. He explained, ‘If Israeli forces intercept the fleet, it is a war crime because we are a legal humanitarian relief fleet carrying humanitarian aid, and no force has the right to intercept it in international waters or attack it.’

Nawar emphasized that ‘this entity [Israel], which has previously targeted our fleet with drones and warships, might resort to any scenario, so we only have two scenarios left: reaching Gaza at dawn or being intercepted tonight and captured by the Zionist entity.’

The ‘Global Resilience Fleet,’ composed of about 50 ships carrying over 500 activists from 40 countries, set sail in early September to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, which is experiencing an unprecedented humanitarian disaster since Israel closed the crossings in March 2025.
