Karim Berkaoui scored the only goal of the match in the 11th minute, following a precise cross delivered by Tariq Tissoudali. On the other hand, the Saudi national team missed a valuable opportunity to equalize when Abdullah Al-Hamdan squandered a penalty kick in the 69th minute, executed in the ‘Panenka’ style.
With this victory, under the guidance of coach Tariq Sektioui, the team raised its tally to 7 points, leading the group to secure its place in the next round and set up a quarter-final clash with the Syrian national team.
The tournament is held in Qatar from December 1 to 18, featuring 16 teams divided into four groups, including teams from Qatar, Palestine, Tunisia, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Algeria, UAE, Morocco, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Comoros, and Sudan.
