NGO Documents War Crimes in Gaza

The organization, a non-governmental organization based in Brussels, explained in a statement on Tuesday that it submitted a 120-page file under Article 15 of the court’s statute, documenting the accused’s responsibility for the crime, according to the Palestinian Press Agency (SAFA). The foundation was established in 2024 in honor of the child who was martyred with her family in Gaza and aims to prosecute Israeli soldiers accused of committing war crimes against Palestinians.

The President of the General Assembly, Annalena Baerbock, warned during her participation in the two-state solution conference last month that children in Gaza have been living in constant fear for more than 700 days. She emphasized that the world has failed the Gazan girl Hind Rajab and the Israeli child Kfir Bibas. Baerbock stated, ‘We cannot ignore Hind Rajab’s voice when the car she was in was bombed,’ adding that ‘humanity is not in choosing one side over another, but in realizing that every life has the same value.’

Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania expressed her pride in the honor, affirming that ‘cinema cannot bring Hind back to life, but it can preserve her voice,’ considering her story a reflection of the tragedy faced by an entire people under the threat of genocide by the Israeli occupation.

The film received a warm applause lasting 24 minutes at its world premiere, a record for the festival. The film blends original audio recordings with reenactments to tell the story of Hind Rajab, who pleaded for hours via phone to be rescued by Palestinian Red Crescent paramedics after her uncle, aunt, and three cousins were killed in a bombing targeting their car. Despite the paramedics receiving permission to send an ambulance, communication was lost after they arrived, and they were also killed in a subsequent attack on their vehicle.
