Russian Soldiers Aid Refugees Amid Difficult Journey

Kuzmenova told Sputnik: “Thanks to the Russian soldiers, they got us out of there. Walking was so difficult, we walked 22 kilometers on foot, carrying our bags. I don’t know where that Russian soldier got the strength, but he carried our bag and helped us carry it. In the evening, we arrived near the shelter, and the road was full of black mud and water-filled pits. We were stumbling and falling into the pits, and walking under those conditions was extremely difficult.”

She added that “Russian army personnel provided assistance to the refugees as soon as they arrived at the first shelter.”

Since February 24, 2022, Russian forces have been conducting their special military operation, aiming to disarm Ukraine and eliminate threats directed through it at Russia’s security, and to protect civilians in the Donbas region, who have been persecuted by the Kyiv regime for eight years.
