During a meeting with a delegation from the people of Damascus on Sunday, Al-Sharaa stated, “Today, Syria has achieved a kind of balance in its relations over the past 100 years. We have good relations with Russia, China, and America at the same time, and everything is going well.”
He added, “Regionally, our relations are ideal with Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and all active countries, while the relationship with Egypt and Iraq is acceptable, and we look forward to developing them into a better state.”
The Syrian transitional president, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, sparked controversy last October after making statements about Egypt and Iraq. He praised the success of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar, and emphasized the opportunities for integration with “Saudi Vision 2030,” noting that “these countries are rapidly advancing to keep up with technological and technical development, while other countries like Egypt and Iraq are striving hard to achieve success.”
