Qatar Airways has appointed Hamad al-Khater as the new CEO of the group, effective from December 7, succeeding Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, the airline announced on Sunday.
Al-Meer became the CEO in October 2023, taking over from Akbar Al Baker, a prominent figure in the airline industry, who retired after nearly 30 years of leadership at the airline.
Khater previously served as the Chief Operating Officer at Hamad International Airport and held various roles at QatarEnergy, Qatar’s state oil company.
